Les Sables d'Olonne
May is full of three day weekends in France and for one of them we drove from Paris to the coastal town of Les Sables d'Olonne. Its a four hour drive or train ride from Paris so its not necessarily an easy trek but it is beautiful.
One of the highlights of this city is the Rue des Coquillages, where a woman has redecorated the walls with brilliant seashell murals.
Around the beach and the ports there are charming buildings everywhere and you can walk out to both of the two lighthouses to enjoy a view of the town. There are surfers, sunbathers, and sailors all around, which makes for a fun place to hang out.
All in all, Les Sables d'Olonne is a wonderful place to enjoy smaller french city charm by the ocean!
