Key West Weekend
Finally made it down to Key West! It was about 4 hours drive from downtown Miami but well worth it. We stayed in a brand new hotel called Ocean's Edge Key West and it was lovely. Everything was stunning and white and super clean and beautiful. We only stayed for one night but I wish it was more. We walked around Duvall street, grabbed lunch at a place called The Cafe where I ate a delicious veggie burger. Afterwards we went to Zachary Taylor State Park and relaxed on the beach for a couple hours before heading home for a shower before dinner.
For the sunset we joined everyone else at Mallory Square for a gorgeous view and then walked over to the Blue Heaven restaurant. The dish that I had was incredible but sadly not written on their online menu so I cant remember the name, but it was a sort of "Buddha Bowl" with quinoa, squash, kimchi and tahini sauce. I have been craving it ever since... I also indulged and tried their award winning key lime pie and it did not disappoint.
The best part about the Keys in my opinion are the homes! This style of architecture is just adorable and I was squealing at every turn as we drove around and enjoyed the sunshine.
