The Eternal City - Rome
“Rome was a poem pressed into service as a city.” -Anotole Broyard
Oh my I was so happy to be going back to Rome! The first time I went to Rome was in May 2016 with my boyfriend for our anniversary. This time it was fun to show it to my family and explore more with them.
Once again we stayed in an Airbnb near the Travestere area of Rome, around here and around Piazza Navona are in my opinion the best areas to stay in Rome. Beautiful winding streets, and close walking distance to everything.
The colors of Rome are so inspiring it was hard for me to not take a photo at every turn. If you walk up the Spanish Steps and head to the left you'll come across some of my favorite views of the city.
Since my boyfriend and I had already visited the colosseum and the Vatican we the rest of my family do that while we stayed out and enjoyed the city. The coolest thing about Rome is that you can just be walking around a regular street and turn the corner and stumble upon some ancient ruins.
Everyone in my family is an early riser, so we were up and ready to go by 8AM every day in Rome, which is how I was able to get some photos without people in them, otherwise this is next to impossible!
I have to say, the best gelato we found was in Rome, and we tried A LOT (some might say too much..) at a place called Frigidarium. Some more restaurant recommendations are Armando Al Pantheon and Il Chianti (I loved the pizza from here and the desserts they gave us on the house were also delicious).
I love this city. After a few days in Rome, we hopped on a train and heading to Naples.
