Thursday May 5th was a holiday in France so like seemingly everyone else in Paris we headed to the coast! Normally a 2.5 hour drive, the insane traffic gave us an almost 5 hour journey. However the famous "falaises", or cliffs, were incredibly beautiful. Etretat is famous for its coastline that inspired many painters such as Claude Monet as well as many other artists. You can reach the Falaise d'Amont by car (the cliff with the little chapel on it), but the other areas are by foot only, luckily none of the paths are difficult to climb. I was definitely more than happy to finally get to experience this place and cross it off my bucket list!
